Donald Trump is an American businessman and politician who served as the 45th President of the United States from 2017 to 2021 and was re-elected as the 47th President, taking office again in January 2025. Born on June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York, he built his career in real estate development, eventually taking over his family's business and expanding it into a global brand encompassing hotels, casinos, and golf courses, while also gaining fame as the host of the reality TV show "The Apprentice." He entered politics as a Republican and won the 2016 presidential election in an upset victory over Hillary Clinton, governing on an "America First" platform focused on immigration restriction, deregulation, and trade protectionism.
