Matthew Hansen Mead is an American attorney, businessman, and politician who served as the 32nd governor of Wyoming from 2011 to 2019. A member of the Republican Party, he previously was the United States Attorney for the District of Wyoming from 2001 to 2007.

He was also a county commissioner in Jackson, the seat of Teton County in northwestern Wyoming. Before his death on October 20, 2009, he was the oldest living former U.S. senator as well as the third oldest living former U.S. governor.

A member of the Democratic party, he later served as a judge on the Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit from 1966 to 1970. He was the first governor of Wyoming to be born in the 20th century.
